Bec's grew up near the ocean and has been a water baby her whole life. Her love for swimming translated into competitive swimming throughout high school and then into triathlons after completing at Bachelor of Physical Education at University of Otago. She has worked as a swim instructor for several years and believes it is a valuable life skill all New Zealanders should have and therefore be able to enjoy the beautiful ocean we have surrounding our country.
She took a short break from triathlon in 2016 and worked as a receptionist at Sports and then onto being a sports administrator at Saint Kentigern College. She enjoys the balance of working and doing sport, not making one all consuming. This year (2020) Becs went back to part time work at Sportslab to focus on racing a lot of half ironman and ironman distance races. Presently a lot of time for training rather than racing.
Recent results over the last year have included a 2nd and 3rd at Tauranga Half Ironman, 5th in my first Ironman (Taupo), 2nd Busselton 70.3, 3rd Japan 70.3, and 3rd at Western Sydney 70.3. Her goal is to win a 70.3 title in the near future.
Becs has loved being part of the Zeenya family over the last several years and represent this inspiring brand. She says "all the women involved are so encouraging of each other!" Becs lives in her Zeenya’s practically everyday whether for running or relaxing at home, going to the café.
